NSW Catholic Norms available June 2025 FAQs

The Learning Bar is excited to introduce a new feature in your reporting toolkit: the NSW Catholic Norms for Primary and Secondary Surveys.

A short video with a live demonstration of accessing NSW Catholic norms is available here

Why did you add NSW Catholic norms?

After analysis of data from our NSW Catholic School clients, we determined that we now had sufficient data to construct NSW Catholic Norms for Student surveys. The introduction of these norms will allow benchmarks and comparisons to be made between schools with the same ideology and similar location demographics.

Who will have access to the NSW Catholic Norm?

The norms will display to Catholic schools within NSW and are not available to NSW public schools or any Catholic schools outside of NSW.

Are there norms for the parent and teacher surveys?

There are currently no available norms for the Parent and Teacher survey. Other comparisons are available, namely the Region Mean.

Are the NSW Catholic norms available in the One-Click report?

No, the One-click report utilises the TTFM norm as a comparison line; this has not changed.

What year are the NSW Catholic norms based on?

The norms are based on data collected from student surveys (primary & secondary) administered in 2024.

Are the NSW Catholic norms displayed retroactively, in reports/charts from previous years?

For Interactive Charts and Trend reports from 2024, the norms are available to add as a comparison.

How do I access the new norms?

Within the Interactive Charts, the NSW Catholic norms are available to select as a comparison line. They will be applied when you select the NSW Catholic Norm, which is available in the state norm drop-down menu.
